Cavebed is the latest project from Oliver Thiessen.

Oliver was the lead singer of the Calgary based indie -folk band Omarandthebear for seven years with brother Jonathan Thiessen. From Omarandthebear’s inception they had quite the history. From getting radio play on college radio stations in Alberta and BC, playing festivals alongside Radical Face and Reuben & The Dark, playing shows with such politicians in attendance as – Mayor of Calgary Naheed Nenshi and Green Party Leader Elizabeth May, getting one of their songs on a Latvian commercial for axes & knives, and playing countless bars, coffee shops and concert halls all over alberta and bc, most memorably the Kelowna Streaming Cafe and the Epcor Centre in Calgary.

In 2017, Oliver decided it was time for a change and packed up and moved out to Vancouver Island. It seemed like a natural progression to shed the omarandthebear moniker and evolve into the solo act Cavebed. Eclectic is what Cavebed strives to be. When you listen to the music you hear many different styles and influences. Always trying to be outside of the box, but still accessible to the listener.

Candy to the ears and food for the soul.
