Phil & Ben Dwyer
Qualicum Beach resident Phil Dwyer is a Member of the Order Of Canada, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Conservatory of Music and has performed on a dozen Juno Award-winning recordings. He has enjoyed a lengthy and illustrious career as a performer, composer/arranger, and educator, collaborating with some of the world’s greatest musical artists. Phil is one of the most recorded musicians in Canada, and has appeared at major music festivals and venues in over thirty countries on four continents. He is the co-owner of SeaWind Musical Instruments, and a recent graduate from the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law.
Ben Dwyer has had an active musical career in Montreal since arriving there from Vancouver Island in 2011. He regularly performs with leading artists from the city’s jazz and indie music scenes. He is a regular member of the group Nomad and the co-leader of the innovative multi-media musical project Bearnest. Ben can often be heard at the popular Montreal venue Café Resonance, among other venues.
The “Dwyer Duo” have dazzled audiences from Vancouver Island to PEI with their telepathic renditions of classic material from the Great American Songbook. Expect to hear a fresh new versions of favourite songs from the golden age of movies and Broadway musicals.
